What special things have Apple done with their software and hardware
Latest in tech
Apple
Well, it is September already and with Apple, September is their official launching month.
This year brought with it three major Apple updates; Apple Intelligence, iOS 18 and of course, the iPhone 16 series.
Apple Intelligence
On the 10th of June 2024, Apple announced the initial release of their special AI platform, Apple Intelligence, which sort of coincidentally has its acronym as AI too.
This AI is set to be one of the best versions of Artificial Intelligence that the world has ever known, focusing more on leveraging more on human context, an advanced form of human assistant, built into our devices. Where else to build an AI that’s like an intelligent duplicate of you if not on our devices–the things we use the most in our lives.
According to Apple, this AI would be merged into Apple's default AI assistant, Siri, but in this case, it is having a whole new touch. Infusing personalization like never before.
iOS 18
Apple’s latest operating system for iPhones, the iOS 18 was launched alongside the iPhone 16 series and would be the default operating system for all iPhone 16 devices until an update arrives.
As put forward by Apple, the iOS 18 is simplified into being just one thing: Truly personal.
Apple is reputable for enhanced privacy, but with iOS 18, they are taking privatization of the iPhone to a whole new level as you can now not only customize certain things to have a personal feel, but can truly be in control of your data.
Put plainly, with this iOS version, iPhone users can now have more ability to personally customize their iPhones in a way that suits them, all thanks to the combined Apple Intelligence. But that is not in any way suggestive that Apple is watering down on security of the iPhone. As a matter of fact, iPhone security is getting more smart features; from the tap to cash method of payment to the passwords app that lets you store your passwords in a secure iOS app.
The iPhone 16 series
The iPhone 16 series was launched on the 9th of September 2024. For the first time after the iPhone 11 series, Apple made an unexpected shift in camera orientation in the 16 and 16 plus only while the 16 pro and 16 pro max retained the 3 camera positioning.
This camera orientation would be a very visible denominator between the 16 series until perhaps they replicate it again in the next iPhone release.
Of them all, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is still the higher rated one by specs and everything, though some people have criticized it as retaining the 3-camera orientation of Apple’s pro max phones.
Here is a detailed specification of all four of them
